Hunting is one possible solution to slowly getting the ever growing population under control. Seeing as we as a people have eradicated many species through direct and indirect means, we can possibly get this species under control. By firing a rifle, other feral pigs are alerted to the presence of the hunter and will likely run away. This will the hunter with only a few feral pigs. Although this may not be an effective means at capturing large amounts of feral pigs, it does help to lower their population bit by bit.

The use of dogs can help to improve the hunting of feral pigs. With their tracking ability and superior sense of smell, feral pigs will not be able to hide. When dogs find a feral pig, they can hold them at bay until the hunter is able to catch up and kill the pig. They can also be hunt silently and are able to run them into hunters or traps.

In many states, this is illegal to do so.
